Baynes indicator comprises normal ASI with additional red pointer which is set at known steady flight stalling speed; this pointer is operated by mechanism inside instrument which will turn pointer to degree proportional to square root of G, so that correct stalling speed appropriate to prevailing G will be shown on dial, and margin between two pointers will thus represent speed range available between prevailing stalling and flying speed.
