Highly satisfactory performance of laminated acrylic material as used in sighting domes of Boeing B-29 points way to many future applications of material in pressurized enclosures; its resistance to breakage and to explosive failure is exceedingly desirable in commercial airplanes and its resistance to gunfire damage is extremely important in military aircraft.
