Lift is dependent upon pressure on wing surfaces and accordingly any variation in air density will cause corresponding change in lift obtainable at given ground speed; greater runway length thus required as altitude of take-off is increased, roughly one-fourth of altitude may be quite accurately determined from graph presented.
