Evidence that coefficient of friction decreases with speed on wet roadway surfaces was obtained by MOYER in his towing tests at Iowa State College; analysis of data obtained from these tests indicates that formula which is presented, gives values very close to average values obtained experimentally for speeds from 10 to 40 mph.
