Changes in gasoline, particularly in volatility and anti-knock quality, have affected operation of motor car engines to great extent; paper compares present day gasoline with pre-war variety; gives practical suggestions for maintenance and operation of cars with fuels now available to civilian users; several minor changes that might be made in design to secure more satisfactory engine operation are mentioned.
