Plant using gas heated high temperature infra-red conveyor units is installed at works of Champion Sparking Plug Co; it is used for firing red printing ink into white blaze of sillimanite cores of spark plugs for which it is necessary to heat core to temperature of between 650-700 C to cause ink to flow into glaze and become permanent.
