Originally, light weight, low-unit-ground-pressure cargo carrier called weasel was designed primarily for snow operations, but later, its usefulness was extended to operation in swamps and muddy terrain; problems which arose during intensive development program are discussed; difficulties were experienced in steering, and tracks of early models had tendency to throw; these and other problems were solved, so that third vehicle designed, known as M-29, is currently in production.
