Brief note on British oil tanker construction during war period; bulk of orders came from leading oil companies; large majority were Diesel engined; tankers constructed for British Tanker Co are based upon prewar design, but with certain modifications and simplifications that were adopted, for enabling ships to be built more quickly, or with view to special conditions necessitated by war; general arrangement plans of war-built 12,000-ton tanker for British Tankers, Ltd, and engine room plans.
