In 5-yr program, 514 sets of improved safety device have been installed at 224 interlocking plants on Pennsylvania Railroad; train with anything hanging below top of rails cannot go very far without being stopped by dragging equipment detector in time to avoid trouble from striking switches or crossovers and thus cause damage to track, or perhaps derail train; detailed description of detector.
