Results of tests of inductive train communication equipment on electrified territory, 440 mi between Hartlowton, Mont, and Avery, Idaho, and 216 mi between Othello, Wash, and Seattle-Tacoma; purpose was to determine whether train communication would operate satisfactorily under overhead catenary energized at 3000-v d-c and with wayside power circuit at 100,000-v a-c, and to be assured that train communication would operate properly when locomotive and/or caboose were running through tunnels.
