Investigation conducted at altitude laboratory of Bureau of Standards. Hector fuel is mixture of approximately 30 per cent benzol, 70 per cent cyclohexane by volume. For flight at low altitudes Hecter fuel showed slight advantages in comparison with gasoline by affording small increase of power over and above that necessary to offset disadvantage of increased fuel consumption. At 14,000 feet and 25, 000 feet no appreciable difference in power was obtained, whereas fuel consumption of Hecter was greater to extent of 15 per cent by weight.
