Royal Aircraft Establishment, originally known as National Aeronautical Establishment, comprises principally large wind tunnel facilities, together with gas turbine power station to drive them, and extensive flying field with much special equipment, being able to represent carrier landings and launches; some displays and installations described and account of flying and static displays on opening day.
