At NACA Lewis Flight Propulsion Laboratory in Cleveland, gas conditions 1,500,000 cfm of air used in wind tunnel 10 by 10 ft that can duplicate conditions of supersonic flight at speeds of 1200 mph; air is dried by means of 32-in. deep beds of activated alumina; gas is used at rate of 450,000 cu ft per hr.
