Inertia wheel which is basically specially constructed flywheel, provides new tool for measuring transient engine performance, allowing engine to perform in laboratory in same manner as when powering vehicle; list of variables and components which can be tested on inertia wheel; method can be used to develop parts utilizing or dealing with heat, air or gasoline flow and being subject to time lag.
