Review of developments; owing to lesser density of exhaust steam when compared with live steam, larger volume of former must be passed to obtain equivalent delivery, and for this reason exhaust-steam injectors differ from live-steam forms in having steam-inlet nozzle of much larger cross-sectional area than have latter; details of combined steam and delivery valve made by Davies and Metcalf.
