Two prototypes built at Reading, of Handley Page's medium size civil transport; powered by four 870-bhp Alvis Leonides Major radials, Herald is designed primarily with "Dakota replacement" requirements in mind; it can provide accommodation for up to 44 passengers in tourist style or 36 in first class layout; it is orthodox high wing monoplane.
