At transonic and supersonic speeds, rain erosion of aircraft materials may prove to be limiting factor in all-weather flying conditions; ballistic methods of testing specimens developed at Convair Division of General Dynamics Corp, San Diego, Calif, in order to determine best materials for missiles and aircraft.
