Paper presents parametric study to ascertain trade-off between range and endurance vs design cruise speed for aircraft powered by turbofan, cruise fan, and turboprop propulsion systems; potential for each type of propulsion system is projected for various design configurations and results of several studies indicate effects of ground rule changes, mixed power plant arrangements, and refueling; pertinence to logistics aircraft systems.
