Two main differences between painting railroad tank cars and smaller products lie in details of their surface preparation and moving them through necessary operations; new rail car paint department of General American Transportation Corp. has over 4000-ft of track embedded in concrete floor, shotblast room, 75-ft long prime coat spray booth, etc; surface preparation by shot blasting; traveling paint spray booth used on special jobs.
