Examination of rolling resistance characteristics of British diesel multiple-unit trains; influence between type profile shape and riding characteristics is discussed; tests were conducted on 6-car diesel-electric Pullman train that is 409 ft long and is powered by 2 1000-bhp engines, to obtain data on tractive resistance of rail cars, riding qualities and ride index values.
