At end of 1963, 11 Fiat engines with cylinders of 900 mm diam would be operating; further, 4 engines should have run shop tests, and 5 more would be under construction and total running hours of such engines must be about 60,000; test shop research is discussed, and reference is made to engine which gave 2660 bhp/cyl with mep of 9.2 kg/sq cm and later 2750 bhp/cyl at 122 rpm; information on oil recommendations, vibratory phenomena and firing order, crosshead bearing operation, control arrangements, etc, is given.
