Telemetry system consists of sensor which observes phenomenon and converts it into form that can be readily transmitted; transmitter, receiver, and suitable transmission medium convey information to distant location; coded information is decoded and phenomenon displayed or recorded at remote location; analysis of sensors (mechanical, generator, resistive, and reactive), and their operation; means of transmitting and recording sensor data are evaluated; applications to earthmoving industry should be considered as new possibilities.
