Paper considers nonlinear filter especially significant to tracking noise problem of homing missiles; application is demonstrated with experimental results based on simplest missile dynamic model for fixed target under basic steering laws; typical model for filter implementation is chosen for analyzing computational requirements and feasibility under various assumptions; Realistic Model Estimator which estimates noisy measurement of Line-of-Sight rate in implicit manner can be considered important contribution for making best use of nonlinear filtering theory.
