Paper discusses principles involved in recording of wheel loads of vehicles traveling at normal road speeds, describes apparatus presently in use, presents typical load spectra obtained on trunk roads, and finally describes experimental load-measuring "pad" for attachment to road surface which may facilitate surveys of traffic.
