Nature and meaning of habitability are discussed in relation to requirements for long duration manned space missions; several models of habitability are examined; attributes of habitability and indices of habitability are discussed; attention is focused on some less common aspects of habitability, discussion on requirements for free internal volume, configuration, privacy (territoriality), personal hygiene, illumination, decor, color, recreation, and use of leisure time, during long duration manned space mission.
