Mathematical model for determining propulsion requirements of high speed interplanetary flights; characteristic velocities for flights to Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter are presented in diagrams as function of launch date and duration of flight; eccentricities and inclinations of planets are taken into account; flight paths start in Earth orbit (500 km) and end either with soft landing on surface of target planet or in orbit about target planet (1000 km); characteristic velocities are given for flights to and from target planets separately.
