Structural polymeric laminates, quartz textiles and white thermal control coatings were evaluated for design of typical orbital vehicle; selection of materials was predicated upon their capability to exhibit greatest degree of dimensional and functional stability when subjected to long term exposure in orbital environment; desired characteristics of these materials are outlined.
