Method for conducting Monte Carlo simulation of space mission when nonlinear effects must be considered and accounted for; technique makes use of covariance matrix analysis, producing large number of samples at fraction of cost of complete trajectories and allowing definitive statistical statements about vehicle performance to be made; method reduces computing time required for Monte Carlo simulation to just about that required to perform standard rms analysis; results, however, are considerably greater in information content, allow definitive probabilistic statements to be made about performance of vehicle, and can be used in analysis of multiphase mission.
