Technical studies show major advantages in propulsion system flexibility, simplicity, reliability, and cost effectiveness attained through use of common propellants for all propulsion functions on cryogenic space vehicles; design considerations involved in development of auxiliary propulsion systems using cryogenic propellants and applicability of catalyst and spark igniter units to oxygen-hydrogen thrust chambers for pulse-mode operations are discussed.
