Conceptual study was made of feasibility of completely autonomous, semimobile, saturated diving system capable of 600 mi surface transit, submergence to 600 ft depth, slow speed intermittent bottom transit, and 30 day bottom endurance; various combinations of propulsion systems, nonnuclear power sources, and hull configurations were investigated; results indicate that, while some subsystems will require substantial development to produce hardware suitable for application, they are within state of art and system as whole is feasible.
