Discussion of what is is considered might loosely be termed hybrid of hydrofoil and hovercraft, and it is suggested that if this line of thinking is developed solution to efficiency, speed, vibration and noise problems might be found; key to hybrid design is that craft is supported by legs, as are some hydrofoils, except that they would be kept buoyant by hover "pads;" these pads would be similar to conventional hovercraft skirts, with each pad supporting leg and thus craft; important feature is that legs are telescopic, incorporating damping and return springs; legs will shorten and lengthen corresponding to each trough and crest, etc; (30504)
