Statistical method of determining accident prone location of highway intersection and section of open highway; computation of regression line by comparing accident rates with traffic volumes for series of intersections or series of sections of open highway; accident rates are defined; accident prone location can be assumed to exist if its rate is greater than one standard deviation above regression line.
