Observations are reported on behavior of motorists passing electronically controlled speed signs in Traffic Pacer System at Warren, Mich; observations made indicate speed, which if adopted will permit vehicle to clear next light on green; it is found that relatively few drivers adopt suggested speed, except when indicated speed coincides with speed limit; probability of clearing next signalized intersection on green is discussed with respect to phasing, flow levels and distance from data taking position to next signalized intersection.
