New system of complete road traffic control by linking of traffic signals and detectors to data processor will reduce accident rate, increase traffic flow, and defer costly urban redevelopment; working on principle of fixed time cycles, but depending upon number of vehicles presenting themselves at intersections, green time can be borrowed or lent, while overall time cycle is maintained as constant; `Rotrac' system enables existing and proposed roads to be used to limit of their capacity.
