General discussion of hydrofoil craft potential is followed by discussion of possibilities and advantages of twin hull design; it is suggested that twin hull displacement system in itself has many advantages and, particularly in hydrofoil application, it allows nearly complete freedom of foil system design; preliminary model tests indicated that hull can be built without planing steps because forward foils can be used to bring hull up onto plane; without complex compound curves planing hulls are cheaper to construct; in improbable event of complete engine failure twin hull provides better sea keeping and stability in heavy seas, etc. (see also Hovering Craft and Hydrofoil v 3 n 11-12 Aug-Sept 1964 p 10-12)
