Chaika, with water-jet propulsion developed by "Krasnoye Sormovo' shipyard at Gorki is designed to carry 30 passengers; length oa 86 ft 3 in., molded breadth 12 ft 5 1/2 in., height of hull (without wheelhouse) 8 ft 2 in., empty displacement 9.82 tons and loaded 14. 26 tons, maximum speed 97 km/hr; diesel propulsion engine develops maximum of 1200 hp at 1850 rpm, with cruising power of 90 hp at 1650 rpm; translation is based on article by I.Yerlykin in Sudostroyeniye Apr 1964 and by D.Pokrovsky in Ryechnoy Transport Feb 1964.
