Ice Harbour singlelift navigation lock is first of 4 locks and dams authorized for construction on Snake River, Wash, which together with 4 dams on Columbia River, will form series of high single-lift locks permitting slackwater navigation from Pacific Ocean to Lewiston, Idaho; waterway traverses distance of over 500 mi, and overcomes total fall of 738-ft; design lift of new lock is 103 ft; lock conforms to standard dimensions adopted for Columbia-Snake River waterway of 86-ft wide by 675-ft long.
