Three years of intensive railroad and port construction in Liberia have opened up one of richest lodes of iron ore available to Western smelters; Raymond Inter national (Liberia) Ltd, contracted to build 165-mi railroad and deep water port needed to develop Nimba Mountain deposit; deposit is so rich that it needs no concentration or reduction but is run through crushers at open pit and sent on 2-mi conveyor to rail head.
