Developments on French National Railways in methods of detecting and correcting wheel slip in electric locomotives; comparison is made of slipping in rectifier locomotives and classic scheme d-c units; slip detection and anti-slip devices are considered, and SNCF experiments using anti-slip devices which involve armature shunting for d-c motive power are indicated.
