New approach is represented by Kelsey-Hayes 3-way safety brake system, designed to provide maximum safety in air-over-hydraulic brake systems for school buses and trucks; safety features and description of various components; hydraulic piping divides basic brake system into 2 parts; rear axle wheel cylinders are piped to outlet port of master cylinder on master power brake unit, and front axle wheel cylinders are connected to master cylinder of slave unit; there is no hydraulic connection between 2 master cylinders or their reservoirs; operation of master and slave power brake units; antilock devices and other safety brake problems.
