Systematic study of projectile aerodynamics made in spark photography range of Ballistic Research Laboratory, and results on drag are sufficiently complete to have general application to compressible flow problems; application made of these ballistic results to design of supersonic aircraft fuselage shape giving minimum drag, with fixed body diameter and with arbitrary choice of conical head and boattail.
