Laboratories of N. V. Philips Gloeilampenfabrieken, Eindhoven, Holland, have conducted investigation of "aerodynamic" piston engine and built experimental units; this firm contends that engines of aerodynamic type can operate at overall thermal efficiency that compares favorably with conventional internal combustion engines; new factor is invention of regenerator which is reported to be more efficient than any previous type.
