Engines can now be started and operated successfully in cold climates with help of procedures and equipment that have reached practical stage; future investigation will be directed mainly toward simplifying these procedures and equipment; Navy experience; icing in flight; Army experience; cold starting procedure. Based on papers presented at symposium on cold weather operation.
