Tests conducted on three wings with 42° sweepback having aspect ratios of 5.9, 3, and 2, and two wings with 38° sweepforward having aspect ratios of 5.9 and 3; wings of aspect ratio 5.9 were longitudinally unstable at stall but reducing aspect ratio tended to eliminate instability.
