Model tests definitely showed that conventional NACA 23,000 airfoil series wing was superior in practically all respects to laminar flow wing; development of "butterfly" tail; landing gear selection; selection of engine simmered down to Continental model, due to slight cost and initial delivery advantage; each major component designed, built and tested to destruction; performance data listed.
