Investigations made of fuel and lubricant problems in Diesel and gasoline trucks, tractars, passenger cars, etc, in Canada, Alaska, and points along Alaska highway; by end of war, Diesel engines operated successfully on No. 1 grade stove oil, provided starting aids were used at low temperatures; for frigid operation, cetane number, is secondary to adequately low cloud and pour points; ice formation in fuel; crankcase lubricants; starting fluid for automotive Diesel engines.
