Results of tests by Libbey-Owens-Ford show that transparent plastics have some advantages over safety glass for motor vehicle windows but certain undesirable characteristics revealed make them impractical for general glazing application; tests made with three types of plastics -- Lucite, Plexiglas and CR-39; summary of conclusions.
