5000 40-ton, steel sheathed, wood lined refrigerator cars being constructed for Pacific Fruit Express Co, are equipped with 80,000-lb capacity trucks, convertible ice tanks and air circulating fans; length of car 44 ft 8 3/4 in.; width 8 ft 3 in.; height, 7 ft 10 1/2 in.; ice bunkers will hold 11,500 lb of chunk ice; cubic capacity of car with bulkheads in place is 1988 cu ft.
