Means for protecting injector against excessive temperature, discussed; illustrated description of Pilgrim injection system using fuel itself as coolant, which was developed at Proefstation Delft der N.V. de Bataafsche Petroleum Mij, Delft, Holland, and is so called because it follows "Pilgrim's step" which consists of two steps forward followed by one step backward; main features of system are set forth.
