French liner returned to transatlantic service July 12, after refitting at Penhoet yard, S. Nazaire; engines were renewed and accommodation modified; built by Cammell Laird, for Cie Generale Transatlantique in 1924; propelling machinery comprised two sets of Parson's turbines driving twin screws through single reduction gearing; ship is now of 18,435 gross tons and is 522 ft long with breadth of 71 ft 5 in. and depth of 42 ft 4 in.
